Open Trip to Krakatoa (Krakatau), Lampung

Sunset always look so pretty
wherever they are :)

Sunset at Umang Island, the one and only picture from my phone since I uploaded on my social media :)
So actually not far from Sukabumi trip, I went to Krakatoa, or Krakatau at Lampung, Sumatera. It is a volcanic island located at Sunda Strait between Java and Sumatera Island. This would be my pretty saddest diaries because my phone was broken and I haven't back up any pictures from Krakatau trip but still want to post something about this trip because I went there already.

It was spontaneous open trip on Friday, 18 - Sunday, 20 August 2017 (3D/2N). The meeting point was at Merak Harbor so me and friends met at Slipi Jaya then from there we went together to Merak Harbor, cost for this open trip was Rp385k/person.

Weekend Getaway to Sukabumi - Time for Nature

"Sometimes you just want to get away
from air polution in your city so
having short weekend getaway
to see nature is a good option!"

This trip begin when I saw a friend updated status that she looked for travelmate to go to Sukabumi on weekend so I said I am in immediately as long as no need to take annual leaves and I am free to join on that weekend, 5 - 6 August 2017 (2D/1N).

Day 1 - Saturday, 5 August 2017

I booked train ticket from Bogor Paledang to Sukabumi Rp25k, our meeting point would be at Paledang Bogor Station 7.30 AM. I just found out that Bogor has 2 station, Bogor and Bogor Paledang, Paledang Station is located not far from Bogor Station, you can just walk, the location is on the opposite of Bogor Station, so cross the road and walk for about 10 minutes.

Local Experience in Jakarta : China Town area, Kopi Es Tak Kie, Sunda Kelapa Harbor

Quick Post :)
It was exciting to see different things
and I experience it in my own city, nice!
July 29th, 2017

busy day at Glodok area
If you have time to explore Jakarta, where else to go? I made a blog post about What to do for One Day Trip at Jakarta with a Low Budget? before, so you might want to check that out too.

I want to share this one because personally I feel this place is so unique and interesting to try in Jakarta. Most people already visited this place but I haven't yet so when I got a chance to accompany a friend to go around Jakarta then I think I want to visit this place. The place is located at Central Jakarta and known as China Town in Jakarta. How to get there? Take Trans Jakarta (cost Rp3,500) route Blok M - Kota and get off at Glodok then walking and explore around China Town.

It's finally here! The blog post where usually people will try to find or ask first about traveling which I save the best for the last :p

It took me few months to finally be able to finish my travel diaries for Europe trip, such a longer post ever! phew! Hopefully you enjoyed reading it and could feel what I feel during my Europe trip where I would be glad to share it to you and for sure it is my treasures.

Personally, I felt I did great for my trip, starting from my preparation (check out here to see my blog post about Things to Do and Tips to Save Budget for First-Time Solo Traveling in Europe), my route for traveling where I booked multi-city instead of round trip, taking care myself before the trip and especially during the trip because I travel solo and for sure I did have lots of FUN for this Europe trip!

Europe 17/17 - Italy : Such a Sunny Day at Milan to end my Europe Trip, Grazie!!

Don't overthink about it. Just Go.

beautiful church, San Maurizio al Monastero Maggiore, Milan, Italy
Day 18 - Saturday, 1 July 2017

Last day already? huhu..time does fly too fast especially when you're in holiday. My flight still at 10 PM so it means I still have one day in Milan. In the morning, I accompany my friend to do weekly groceries shopping at Ipercoop Market, such an interesting thing for me since I joined what usually local people do. And mostly in Europe, they avoiding use plastic so they will usually carrying their own shopping bag because sometimes you need to pay like 0.5 euro per plastic which is quite expensive for plastic, so if you're not bring your shopping bag then either you will put all the stuff in your bag or you want to pay for the plastic.

The supermarket located quite far from center city, but my friend said the price is good in here, it's also a big supermarket and that's true. Once I entered the supermarket I feel like I should buy something in here haha. The pasta selections are very nice, and everything is cheap, how I love it! Too bad, I only can buy several things because my backpack already full already, wondering how will I packed my things later.

Europe 16/17 - Italy : From Rome to Milan, My Last Night for Europe Trip

“To travel is to live.”
- Hans Christian Andersen
Duomo in Milan, stunning!
Day 17 - Friday, 30 June 2017

My friend already left Rome last night but I am still here, my train for Milan is at 12.20 PM this afternoon. I don't wanna go somewhere so I am just laying down at my room until check out time at 10 AM. My train will leave from Rome Termini Station, so I left my hostel and stopped by at the market to buy couple things before heading to the station. I found this Conad City Market where actually it's cheaper to buy there comparing with others market. I also tried to shop using the self service one, it's an unique experience for me.

Rome Termini is a big station and there are lot of shops inside the station. They have some brands at the station like Mango, Kiko etc. While waiting for my train I visited those stores and going upstairs to the foodcourt, sit there and waiting. Anyway in my opinion, it's quite hard to find someone speaks in English because Italian most of them speak their own language, sometimes when I already clearly ask in English, they still reply in Italy where for me seems roaming because I don't get what they mean.

Europe 15/17 - Italy : Still at Rome and Back Again to Vatican for St. Peter's Basilica!

“Travel brings power and love back into your life.”
- Jalaluddin Mevlana Rumi
at Vatican City State :)
Day 16 - Thursday, 29 June 2017

Today, I woke up super late and we started our day around 11 PM from the hostel. We didn't feel so rush because we almost visited like all the main sites at Rome so no rushed for today. Our plan is go back to Vatican and go inside the St. Peter's Basilica, so from Rome Termini Metro Station, we were heading to Ottaviano Metro Station (Line A) cost 1.5 euro, then we will walk to Vatican.

Arriving at Ottaviano Metro Station and there are so many shops there, there was another Kiko store along the way then we went inside and buy couple things, they also have Free Wifi which is so cool. There are also some souvenirs shops.

Europe 14/17 - Italy : When in Rome and Vatican City (Colosseum, Roman Forum, Pantheon, Trevi Fountain)

"Wherever you go becomes a part of you somehow."
Anita Desai
Fontana di Trevi, Rome, Italy
Day 15 - Wednesday, 28 June 2017

Today we are going to explore city center in Rome, I also got another travelmate where I met before in Yogyakarta so glad I can say to have a friend who knows better than us for Rome. So, finally 4 of us are going to explore this city.

From Rome Termini, we took the metro to Colosseum, you won't missed Colosseum because it's the famous site in Rome, another one of 7 wonders. Colosseum is an oval amphitheatre in the centre of the city of Rome which built in 70-80 AD, originally known as the Amphitheatrum Flavium. The South part of Colosseum was collapsed due to massive earthquake in 847. The Colosseum was used for gladiators contest and public spectacles like animal hunt or wild animal fights.

Europe 13/17 - Italy : Florence, Day Trip to Magnificent Cinque Terre and Quick Stop for Pisa Tower

"Create the highest, grandest vision
possible for your life,
because you become what you believe."
- Oprah Winfrey
me at Riomaggiore, Cinque Terre, Italy
Day 14 - Tuesday, 27 June 2017

My plan for today is visiting Cinque Terre, my friend recommended this place, saw the pictures and I thought, Ohh I must go there definitely if I go to Italy, so after some consideration for the route, I prefer to stay at Florence which is closer to Cinque Terre. I stored my bag in my hotel and going to take it back later on before catching up my train to Rome. It's so easy and convenience to use train wherever in Italy, they have nice train, very recommended.

I checked the train schedule from an apps called Trenitalia, and decided to stroll around the city before heading to Cinque Terre. I only have limited time for Cinque Terre means Five Lands, which are Riomaggiore, Manarola, Corniglia, Vernazza and Monterosso. So after looking at pictures, I choose 2 out of 5 villages, Riomaggiore and Manarola, actually I want to add Monterosso but I thought it's a beach where I could find a lot in my country.

Europe 12/17 - Italy : One Day Trip for Venice and Lovely Burano

"It's good to have someone to talk with
while you traveling
so you won't feel totally alone"
Picturesque Burano, Venice, Italy
Day 13 - Monday, 26 June 2017

The driver of Hello Bus is Italian, he just alone and didn't bring assistant with him. The journey took about 9.5 hours so whenever there is an announcement, he will speak in Italian haha which I don't understand. I was sitting alone on that night so it's great because I will have additional space. Arriving in Venice around 7.30 in the morning, Venezia Tronchetto (Piazzale People).

There were not many people when I get off from the bus, from there I took a train (1.5 Euro) to Venice area, the station was just there from I get off, and I get down at the last stop and from there I walked to  St. Lucia Station to store my bag on the locker because my train also will leave from St. Lucia Station. I didn't stay at Venice and will leave by train today at 7 PM. Since I decided to stay at Florence rather than Venice because I thought Venice is super turisty place so I prefer Florence.

Europe 11/17 - Austria : Explore Vienna in One Day and Eating Indonesian Food!

"Everyday may not be good.
But there is something good in everyday."
-Unknown
It's like a hidden treasure in Vienna, too beautiful! at Michaelerplatz, Vienna
Day 12 - Sunday, 25 June 2017

Today is actually Eid Mubarak (Idul Fitri) and this is my first time being away from home on that National Holiday. I will have a full day to explore Vienna because my bus will leaving at 10 PM to Venice, Italy. I will take overnight bus with Hello Bus on that day.

Starting by taking a tram nearby my friend's apartment, bought 24 hours ticket already for 7.6 Euro. Anyway, most people in Vienna talking in German. I get off at Schottentor station and I start walking from there. First spot is Rathaus, a city hall of Vienna which constructed from 1872 to 1883 in a Neo-Gothic style, located at Rathausplatz in Innere Stadt district. There is a big and nice park in front of it, and when I went there, I think they just had an event in front of the building.

Across the building you can see Burgtheater, originally known as K.K. Theater an der Burg, then until 1918 as the K.K. Hofburgtheater, is the Austrian National Theatre in Vienna and one of the most important German language theatres in the world, another beautiful building. Not far from that you can see Austrian Parliament Building, along the way from Rathaus which is also beautiful.

"It's never too late to follow your dreams,
And there's no time like present to start."
- Unknown
lovely Prague! you won't regret visiting this beautiful city :)
Day 11 - Saturday, 24 June 2017

I plan to explore the city center in Prague, Czech Republic by joining Free Walking Tour by Sandemans this morning like I had in Berlin, start from 10 AM at Old Town Square. Since I am alone and have no idea what to visit in Prague on that day so start off with this Free Walking Tour was a great option. From my friend's house I took the route where I could passing the famous Charles Bridge in Prague, so I took a tram from nearest Tram station and alight at Malostranské náměstí Station (24 CZK, 30 minutes Single Metro Ticket) then walked to the Charles Bridge. One of my reason to visit Charles Bridge because it was a filming site for Music Video from DBSK - "O"-Jung Ban Hap, my favorite :) So, this city is already on my list since long time ago and finally I can visit it!

BERLIN

I booked my bus, Regiojet (6.9 Euro) to Dresden already and the bus leaving at 9 AM from Berlin ZOB am Funkturm, again, I almost late and had another morning exercise which is running. The journey will took about 2.5 hours to Dresden. There is no Free Wifi on the bus to Dresden since they will turn on Wifi from Dresden to Prague, sounds weird for me but nice they offer us a drink like capuccino, coffee or tea. Well, Goodbye Berlin!

Europe 8/17 - Germany : Miss You Already, Berlin! Auf Wiedersehen!

"Don't worry about failures,
worry about the chances you miss
when you don't even try."
- Jack Canfield
one of graffiti at East Side Gallery, the Berlin Wall, Germany
Day 9 - Thursday, 22 June 2017
I feel like I don't want to rush in Berlin, visiting places as much as I can and decided to be more relax during my trip in Europe, in this case, Berlin, I have no designated destination in that morning so I decided to explore around the neighborhood on the other side.

Let's say I will just do some park hopping for today and just walk around the area. Passing the Volkspark and I can say this park is soooo big. Volkspark Friedrichshain is a large urban park on the border of the Berlin neighborhoods of Friedrichshain and Prenzlauer Berg. In this park you may find lot of monuments, sculptures and works of art. Lot of people do jogging, biking or just sitting there. It is also recommended to explore around Berlin by bike.

Europe 7/17 - Germany : Guten Tag, Berlin! I Had a Great Time with You!

"First, think.
Second, believe.
Third, dream.

- Walt Disney
Brandenburg Gate in the heart of Berlin, must see things in Berlin :)
Day 8 - Wednesday, 21 June 2017

Guten Morgen, Berlin!

It's Germany already and this country already on my list since long time ago. I decided to take Free Walking Tour by Sandemans at Berlin because I have no idea what to visit in Berlin beside the Berlin Wall. I put my trolley backpack on the storage and checked out. Someone from the Free Walking Tour team will pick up those who joins the tour at several hostel. She pick us up around 10 AM and we walked into different hostel before heading to the meeting point at Brandenburg Gate area. We took the bus and I bought Tageskarte for Berlin AB (1 day) ticket, 7 euro.

Europe 6/17 - Switzerland : Grindelwald First, Superb First Cliff Walk, Basel and Off to Berlin, Germany!

"Fear is Only Temporary.
Regrets Last Forever"
- unknown
Do you spotted the metal walkway on your left side? It's First Cliff Walk at Grindelwald, Switzerland :)
Day 7 - Tuesday, 20 June 2017

One night is not enough at Grindelwald, hope to stay longer in here. I checked out earlier and store my bags at their baggage storage, anyway it's Free. I am truly in love with this hostel, Mountain Hostel, I had my breakfast which I could tell was a fancy breakfast I ever had during my entire traveling when I stayed in hostel, so many choices of breakfast and everything is gut! Later on I guess I will write a review about this hostel because I had an amazing stay even it's just for a night.

I took a local bus where the bus stop, Grund is just next beside the hostel, I went to Firstbahn Bus Stop to take Cable Car to Grindelwald First. The journey took about 10-15 minutes from Grund to Firstbahn. I love the ambience here, when I get on the bus, I am the only one passenger. The driver will greeting you and it just made my day, I showed him my visitor's card but he got it already and said "It's okay, just get in" (while smiling). Anyway it's also common for a dog to get on the bus too, at first I was amazed when I saw a big dog get on to the bus with their owner. Lot of people take their dog with them and take a walk or even ride the bus hehe.

Europe 5/17 - Switzerland : Bern, Thun, Interlaken and Grindelwald

It's the most expensive country but yet here I am,
a Solo Female Backpacker having her "me time" as a reward for herself
Yes, it was super expensive but worth it :)
Amazing view at Grindelwald, Switzerland
Day 6 - Monday, 19 June 2017

SWITZERLAND = my kind of me time :)

BERN

I took overnight bus by Flixbus (cost 29 Euro) from Paris to Bern, Switzerland. Why Bern? Simply because I want to go to Switzerland and Bern was the cheapest option if I start my Switzerland trip from there. There was a moment when yeah, it was my bad when the bus stop at Geneva, Switzerland, I thought it would be like 15 minutes stop so I went out of the bus and did a quick stroll around area. And apparently it’s just really a quick stop and the driver actually want to drop off some passengers. So, after a quick stroll, I want to go back to the bus and I was surprised. The bus already moved and almost left me there, then I stopped the bus and phew! I got into the bus again and they asked me “Where you go?” I said “Bern.” I don’t know what will happen if I didn’t get into the bus that quickly and what happened if they already left, haha, so careless.

Europe 4/17 - France : Explore Paris in One Day [Pantheon, Notre Dame, Louvre, Montmartre]

"Be Brave. Take Risks.
Nothing Can Substitute Experience."
- Unknown
Louvre, Paris, France
Day 5 - Sunday, 18 June 2017

BONJOUR! :)

So, basically I will have a whole day for today in Paris. I was alone and planning to go to Pantheon, at first I planned to go there by Metro but when I went out from my friend's home, the weather was very nice so I decided to walk from Les Gobelins area. Found a local market along the way where the local people are busy shopping in this market and it's just really nice to stroll around that area.

Heading to Quartier Latin (Latin Quarter), why they named it Quartier Latin? Because it's the place where the first University, Sorbonne University and some colleges were located, we may can say this Quartier is the heart of student Paris. And during the Middle Ages, scholars spoke latin, courses were in latin so the district was called "Quartier Latin". At there, you will spot this big building called Pantheon, did I tell you that everything in Paris is really big? and yes indeed. Pantheon was originally built as a church dedicated to St. Genevieve and after some changes they combines liturgical functions with its role as a famous burial place with most important people were buried there. (source : here)

Europe 3/17 - Netherlands, Belgium and France in One Day? What a Fancy Day!

Yes, you read the title right! I also can't believe it either :p
I might call it "The Art of Europe Trip" where in just One Day you can hop on 3 countries and feel so Fancy

Rembrant Mill since 1636, Amsterdam, Netherlands
Day 4 - Saturday, 17 June 2017

This morning would be very interesting because we are planning to do biking around the neighborhood and there was another windmill located not far from my friend's house. The weather was very nice in that morning. Got the bikes from the parking area and we rode bikes in the morning. Lucky me, my friend has 2 bikes. So, windmill and bikes are perfect combination to experience local life at Holland, yeay! so happy :D

I could tell how long Dutch people's legs are because it's quite difficult for me to reach the pedals especially when I tried to pedal it hehe. In addition, mostly their bikes break position also different with Indonesian one, it's not located on your hand position but on the pedal. Just pedal to the back and it's break already, so it's bit unusual. But I managed ride the bikes because I change with the one that have break in the hand position.

Europe 2/17 - Netherlands : Zaanse Schans, Volendam, Rijkmuseum, Dam Square

"Of all the books in the world,
the best stories are found between the pages of a passport."
-Unknown

Bibliotheque at Rijkmuseum, Amsterdam :)

Day 3 - Friday, 16 June 2017
My plan for that day was going to Zaanse Schans and Volendam, located at North Holland. I bought Amsterdam & Region Travel Ticket already at the airport yesterday (18.5 Euro - 1 Day) so all set to go, the ticket included map and some information too. You can also pay the single ticket on the bus directly but since I will go to Volendam also, I prefer to buy this ticket. It's also valid for Metro, Bus or Tram in the city. From my friend's house I went to Amsterdam Central Station and from there I go directly to the bus station on the back side, at 2nd level.

The directory there is so clear so you won't missed it. I bought sandwich at Convenience Store inside the Station just in case. To go to Zaanse Schans, I will take Bus 391 at Platform E and get off at the last Bus Stop, Zaanse Schans. To use the ticket you need to validate for the first time using it. Mostly, you need to validate the ticket for the first time and after that you can just hop on and off into the bus/tram depend on ticket you bought, so basically it's based on trust and their culture.

Europe 1/17 - Netherlands : Explore Amsterdam City Center, I Amsterdam, Red Light District

"Save more money and travel outside Asia!"
It's my mission long time ago and I did it finally, keep dreaming and make it happened :)

This was my first long-haul flight and I will go solo traveling this time so bit nervous when thinking about what will I do to keep myself busy, of course I will try to sleep during this flight. If you mised it I also made a blog post about things to do before doing this Europe Trip for first timer. Anyway, my travel diaries to Europe, 14 June - 2 July 2017 (19D/18N) officially begin, enjoy!

Day 1 - Wednesday, 14 June 2017
I went to office carrying my trolley bag because as usual I will go directly to airport from work. To be honest, I can't wait for this trip on that day and super excited for this trip yet bit nervous. I got stomache before leaving to the airport so I asked the Taxi driver to stop by pharmacy to get some medicines lol xDD

Once I arrived in the Soekarno Hatta International Airport, the stomache was gone. I bought KLM ticket separately from my Europe ticket by Etihad, and the next flight would be at 2 AM in the morning from Kuala Lumpur. I told the officer when I checked in that I will have next flight to Amsterdam via Abu Dhabi at 2 AM and is it possible to go out from immigration, take my luggage and check in again for my next flight. Because they can't help to make flight connected since they are different group. The officer was really nice because he let me to bring my bag into cabin even though my backpack was quite heavy like 10 kgs in total. My flight to Kuala Lumpur from CGK was at 6.45 PM.

First-Time Solo Traveling in Europe? Things to Do and Tips to Save Budget

"Take vacations,
Go as many places as you can.
You can always make money.
You can't always make memories."
- unknown
when in Rome...
This trip like Finally, one of my dreams came true! :) Since I would like to go on trip outside Asia, and yeay! So, I just installed this application called Kayak and it's really fun to check flight ticket, I put Europe destination in random and you can choose multi-city too, I have no idea so I checked the price randomly and surprised seeing it's not that expensive at that time. I was like keep checking on it like everyday and thinking whether I buy it or not, I ended up bought and freaking out yet happy! I bought it around mid of November 2016.

Kind of confusing a bit to decide the dates because I have limited annual leaves from my office like 10 days in a year ;( but I feel like at least I need minimum 2 weeks in Europe so I am looking for long National Holiday where Moslem holiday was perfect at that time, since it's Summer time and from I read it's better to go on June or September, because if July and August would be too crowded. I booked ticket from 15 June - 2 July, 2017, Kuala Lumpur (KUL) - Abu Dhabi - Amsterdam, Milan - Abu Dhabi - Jakarta (CGK) with Etihad Airways, total RM 2,327.9 (Rp7,360,459) and I also booked Jakarta (CGK) - Kuala Lumpur (KUL) on 14th of Jun, 2017 with total Rp467,422 by KLM.

1. Your first Schengen country destination or
2. Country where you plan to stay longer

I booked my flight few months before departure like 6 months, I decided to book multi-city so start from Amsterdam and back from Milan, with the route is Jakarta - Kuala Lumpur - Abu Dhabi - Amsterdam and Milan - Abu Dhabi - Jakarta, this is my first longest trip so far, in total is 19 days from 14th of Jun - 2nd of Jul, 2017.

How does it feel like to go solo traveling?

Quick Escapade to Stone Garden and Goa Pawon, Padalarang

"Happiness comes when you
believe in what you are doing,
know what you are doing,
and love what you are doing."

Hey again! This trip was never plan before so it’s so sudden trip, just confirmed the day before. It's been a while since we had trip together, I think the last time is Karimun Jawa. Since me and 2 others friends could make it this time so we registered and just pick a place that we haven’t been there before also the slot that still available. We found this one, Stone Garden & Goa Pawon, Padalarang for Day Trip on National Holiday, on the 11th of May 2017, cost Rp185,000/pax but because we registered for 3 persons, so we only need to pay Rp179,000/pax.

Woke up in early morning because we need to gather at Meeting Point Plaza Semanggi at 6.30 AM, but I left my house around 6.30 AM, and arrived in 30 minutes later. It’s passed from the schedule and we left there around 7.30-ish AM. Arrive in the afternoon and basically we only have 2 destination for today.

Thailand [COLDPLAY] 5/5 : What to see in Medan in 6 hours?

"Once a year, go someplace
you've never been before."
- Dalai Lama

Saturday, 8 April 2017
We asked the hotel security to get us taxi in that morning and ask him to telling him that we just want to take the regular way not the toll in order to avoiding paying toll fees, haha.

The driver was agreed even he looked us like saying 'ohh poor girls, couldn't afford to pay the toll fees' but well I don't care. It's still early morning so I believe Bangkok will be same like Jakarta, no traffic on that morning and it's right, maybe took about 30 - 45 minutes, heading to Don Mueang Airport and fly to Medan with Air Asia at 8.15 AM.

Arrived in Kuala Namu Airport and wow the airport is really nice, first time here since the last time in Medan I landed at Polonia Airport. We still have time to explore in Medan before catch our flight at 6.40 PM but turned out delay to 7.45 PM and another delay to 8.20 PM using Sriwijaya Air, 3rd delay just found out later on in the afternoon.

Friday, 7 April 2017
For me personally, I was so excited to be back to Bangkok. This country had special unforgettable memory for me, it was my first country to travel overseas and first time watching concert which such a great concert I ever watched, TVXQ (Dong Bang Shin Ki/DBSK) concert. We left around 7 AM and taking subway transit with BTS to Saphan Taksin BTS, from there we walked to Central Pier to take public boat 15 Baht, pay inside the boat, take the orange flag one and alight at Than Tien Pier (N8)

Thailand [COLDPLAY] 3/5 : Explore "The Beach" Maya Bay at Phi Phi Island

Work
Save
TRAVEL
Repeat.

Thursday, 6 April 2017
The agent where we bought the tour package last night (cost 1,100 Baht/person) told us to gather at meeting point 7/11 near the Phi Phi Pier at 6 AM, so we checked out earlier to go there. We put our bag to the agent and had breakfast like coffee or tea and bread. We waited until 6.30 AM then off to our speedboat, there were around 12 persons inside the boat, we were the only Indonesian there. The journey felt bumpy and if you have seasick, hmm maybe this is not a good choice for you. Felt so happy because the speedboat was really nice, heading to our first destination, Loh Maya Bay, on this morning exploring Koh Phi Phi Le, the journey will take about half an hour.

Thailand [COLDPLAY] 2/5 : Phuket and Beautiful Lookout at Phi Phi Island

"Take a good look at God's wonders -
they will take your breath away"
- Psalm 66 : 5

Wednesday, 5 April 2017
Tried to sleep for few hours and woke up in early morning, our flight to Phuket is at 8.20 AM, it took almost 2 hours, kinda afraid to fly on that condition and thinking that I still have 4 flights are just made me terrified. Okay, I shouldn't focus on that damn hurt left ear. I tried to cover my left ear with tissue during the flight, eating gums, yawning, drinking water and do whatever I found in Google. Yay, I can handle this flight and the flight was smooth, the pilot doing his job very good, I didn't feel the sudden changing pressure really bad like I had on my first flight.

Thailand [COLDPLAY] 1/5 : Transit, Wander and Stay Overnight at Changi Airport

"And if we've only got this life
In this adventure, oh, then I want to share it with you"
-Coldplay, Adventure of a Lifetime

This trip begin when I heard there will be Coldplay concert in some Asian countries and I just thought maybe I could see one of them, well Coldplay not really my favorites but I love some of their songs. In addition, I can have another holiday which is made me more excited. I planned to see the one in Singapore but it turned out the tickets there were very hard to get, so, move to the next country which is Thailand and yay we got the tickets! I still have another bucket list in Thailand which is Phuket. I've been curious with this city long time ago and remembered the time when I booked already in 2012 but I didn't fly at that time and flew to South Korea instead.

And feel so happy because I can go this time. It was such a short time with some cities yet many flights to catch up, fighting! I told my friend that I really want to go to Phuket and it's okay if she doesn't want to join and it's okay for me to go alone but we ended up going there together, yay! It's gonna be short trip yet many flight and destinations, super duper tired but well it's holiday! would be fun no matter what :)

What to do for One Day Trip at Jakarta with a Low Budget?

"The journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step."
- Lao Tzu

Never thought to write down things to do where I lived in, so I think maybe I should start one. It happened when I hosted these 2 girls (bioonthego and thegoin) from Canada through CouchSurfing few weeks ago. I had day off since weekend and I have nothing to do so I just accompanied them to explore Jakarta.

In this blogpost I want to share about what to do in a day at Jakarta based on my experience recently of course with low budget.

Usually for breakfast there are plenty Indonesian food to try especially near my house, and if we don't have much time to go somewhere to buy some then toast with the jam or oatmeal will be enough. Today we have Lontong Sayur for breakfast, What is it? it's rice cake served with vegetables, tofu and boiled in coconut milk soup with krupuk. For me personally, to have this kind of Lontong Sayur for breakfast is bit too much since it makes me so full for half day!:D The Cost? ohh it's so cheap around my neighborhood Rp5,000/portion, depend on the neighborhood though.

Never Get Enough with Yogyakarta

"Take a chance. It's the best way to test yourself.
Have fun and push boundaries."
- Richard Branson

Yeay finally another update! haha..been back and forth to this city made me should think harder regarding which place to visit this time. I know it would be so tired after it but I have no choice, went again to Yogyakarta for short getaway, for Weekend trip Feb 17 - 19, 2017 (3D/2N).

How long on train?
About 8 hours, went to Yogyakarta by train on Friday 6.45 PM, arrived at Saturday dawn 2.30 AM and back from Yogyakarta on Sunday 5.45 PM, arrived at Monday 2.30 AM then go home directly to sleep few hours and off to work at 8 AM.

You knew it would be so tired, but why you did that?
It's been so long since I am on vacation and I have limited annual leaves in a year so I need to spend it wisely.

January  : Pahawang Island
This is one of my bucket list and I never thought Pahawang Island will have a nice spot for snorkeling like in this picture, the water very clear, you can see underwater so clearly from your boat, so lovely and so many good spots in Pahawang, they really maintain and taking care the island. They also have nice beach with the white sands. Still remember when we insisted we need to go to Pahawang Island despite the weather which was still raining most of the day. You can see my full travel diaries here. Good place, good laughs, good friends and Pahawang Island was starting my trip in 2016.
