"Time flies too fast, it's 2017 already, hope the very best for all of you, stay healthy, happy and keep traveling!"

Hello everyone! In this blog post I want to share my itinerary for my recent Korea Trip in Autumn (11D/10N) at 20 – 31 October 2016, stayed one night in KLIA 2 so it’s not counted for 12D/11N for me :D

I always enjoyed my trip and little tips for those of you who might go to Korea for the first time, you can consider changing my 2nd day in my itinerary since in this trip I went to visit my friends so I didn’t go to many places on that day, My suggestion is Explore Seoul, you might want to check Bukcheon Hanok Village, Insadong, Gyeongbokgung Palace, King Sejong Statue, Gwanghwamun Area, Cheonggyecheon Stream, Myeongdong Cathedral, Namsan Seoul Tower and back to explore Myeongdong at night :). You might want to check my experience here even though on my first visit, I missed Insadong and Myeongdong Cathedral because I have another agenda.

Korea 11/11 : Busan and Kuala Lumpur, First Experience trying Capsule Hotel at KLIA2

Day 11 – Sunday, 30 October 2016
Early check out in the morning and heading to airport by subway, it’s not that far since it only took less than 30 minutes to Gimhae International Airport (KRW 1,700). My flight back to Jakarta was at 10.35 AM and transit in Kuala Lumpur. I had around 6 hours flight back to Kuala Lumpur at arrived there at 4 PM. Since my flight back to Jakarta is on the next day which is tomorrow at 8.25 AM so I had loooong time to wander around KLIA2.

Korea 10/11 - Busan : Beomeosa Temple, Gamcheon Culture Village, Jagalchi Fish Market, Haeundae Beach

Day 10 – Saturday, 29 October 2016
Arrived at Busan in early morning at Busan Central Bus Terminal then we walked to Nopo Station. We bought Metro Busan Subway Day Pass which valid for one day and is a good way to save your transportation cost, bought at Ticket Vending Machine, KRW 4,500/person.

From Nopo Station we went to Boemnageol Station and so glad we don’t need to transfer since we got many stuff to bring at that time, especially our shopping haul kkk xDD. We stayed at Kimchee Busan Guesthouse and since it’s still early morning and we couldn’t check in, since no one there in receptionist. So we just left a note and put our bags there near receptionist after took a shower and get ready to explore Busan on that day. And also we glad since our guest house is really close with subway station :)

I was planning to take taxi to airport but I found there is a Bus No. 500 which will stop in the airport from in front of hotel, so why not take the bus, haha KRW 1,200 paid with T-money. I also met Korean at guest house and planning to go to the airport too with the bus but he will heading to China from Jeju. It’s really close to airport, less than 10 minutes I am arrived already at Jeju International Airport.

My flight at 8 AM and I will meet my friend at Kimchee Shinchon Guesthouse, Hongdae. Arrived at Gimpo Airport after an hour flight I rushed to Hongdae, we promised to meet at 9.30 AM.

Day 7 – Wednesday, 26 Oct 2016
Made a deal with the driver to pick us up at 8 AM in this morning, so we were ready before 8 AM and having our breakfast. The guest house provides bread, jam, cheese, egg, juice, tea or coffee. You can use the kitchen and don’t forget to wash it after you use it. We had a good breakfast in the morning, they also provide free Jeju oranges and of course the orange is so tasty.

We stayed for one night only because my friends will go back to Seoul at that night while I am still staying in Jeju for another night with different guesthouse. We checked out in that morning and I had a postcard sent from that guesthouse to a friend. That was my first time sending a postcard which I found that kind of simple thing but memorable, it’s also cheap (KRW 1,500) for card and stamp. Today's schedule? Explore East Jeju Island :)

The Rent Taxi cost KRW150,000/day for 10 hours, including fuel, driver, and driver’s meals. His name is Mr. Kim Dong Cheol, got his business card and you may find on my pictures below.

Our first day in Jeju Island officially begin! :) we gave him our designated place for our 2 days there and based on his recommend, he told us to exchange tomorrow schedule for today, we said it’s okay, so today’s schedule is Exploring South Jeju Island. Korea 3/11 - Dalkomm Coffee, SM Town Coex Artium and Nightlife at Hongdae

“The man who goes alone can start today, but he who travels with another must wait till that other is ready.”
– Henry David Thoreau

Still on Day 3 - Saturday, 22 Oct 2016 (see part 1 here)

I'm starving already so time to hop on the next place that I missed yesterday and get my lunch there, SM Town COEX Artium, found this place by reading some references and planning to visit this place suddenly, at first I didn't plan to. From Anguk Station heading to Samseong Station (Samsung) Exit 5 or 6, and having late lunch at McDonald haha..general junkfood restaurant that you may find mostly wherever you are and became my saviour.

Korea 2/11 - Visiting Beautiful Haneul Park (Sky Park) in Autumn

"Traveling - it leaves you speechless, then turns you into a Storyteller"
- Ibn Battuta

Day 3 - Saturday, 22 Oct 2016

Starting my morning with today first destination, Haneul Park or Haneul Gongwon, Haneul means sky and Gongwon means park in Korean, not really far from my guesthouse, it took about 15 minutes to the nearest subway of the park, World Cup Stadium Station Exit 1. Got time to fuel my stomach by Odeng KRW 1,000 nearby World Cup Stadium, quite pricey since I knew usually Odeng is KRW 500. Walking about 1km to the park following the map, hmm what an exercise in the morning, especially when I found out that I need to climb up the stairs, 300 stairs to climb up, whuatt?!? no one tell me that >< but well been a while since I exercised so 300 stairs here I come!! (since I don't have any choice) up up up up...whooossaahhh..

Korea 1/11 - It's Very Nice to See You Again, Annyeong Korea!

I guess this would be my last visit to Korea since I am planning to finish my bucket list during this trip but turned out I am guessing wrong :)

Day 1 - Thursday, 20 Oct 2016

This is the longest trip so far for me and I am fully excited to go on this trip, from chillax plan becoming tense plan lol xDD I feel like I want to finish everything that I haven't done yet back time on my first visit

Took the night flight around 8:30 PM from CGK - KUL, went directly from office straight away to airport. Bit sucks since it's kinda delayed for more than 30 minutes and I only have 1,5 hours if on time to my connecting flight, so when it's landed at KUL, I feel like dying since I gotta rushed to my next flight since it's not 1,5 hours anymore but less than 30 minutes and it's boarding already. Run run run at KLIA 2 to my gate and crap the gate is really far away, feels like I landed at Gate A and my next flight is Gate Z, do you understand my feeling and I keep swearing along the way lol xDD I sweat too much and exhausted.

Things to Do and FREE Shuttle Bus for South Korea Trip

"Traveling should be fun and not feel burdened with things that you actually don't want to do" - MJ

This is my second time visiting this country, (check my first visit in Winter 2012 here and also the itinerary back then here ) actually at first I only want to relax and not well-prepared for this trip, I booked myself the ticket already like a year before haha..planning to do solo traveling and choose end of October because I want to see Autumn and someone said the perfect dates are around end of October, so I booked Jakarta (CGK) - Kuala Lumpur (KUL) (connecting flight) - Seoul Incheon (ICN), round trip for 20 - 27 October 2016.
Spring in Japan and now Autumn in Korea! :)
Along the months I talked with some friends and suddenly my friend want to tag along my plan. I kind of struggle a bit because I want to extend the trip or not due to I might get 2 weekend :) and well finally I did extend so I booked another flight ticket Busan - KUL (connecting flight) - CGK for 30 October and will arrive at CGK at 31 October in the morning. Planning to do refund for airport tax for ICN - KUL (connecting flight) - CGK later. So, it's gonna be such a long trip from 20 - 31 October 2016 to South Korea, 9 days exactly in South Korea. It would be the first time for my friend so the itinerary so packed. We booked different dates, since I will go there alone first.

How to Apply Korean Visa for Indonesian

(mixed English - Indonesian post)

So after 4 years finally I will go back to Korea again, and need to apply visa again. Many people telling me and even I heard some news said that nowadays are quite difficult to apply Korean visa. Hmm but for me I think it supposed to be okay if I can fulfill all the requirements, right? *trytocalmdownmyself*

Looking back my previous post about how to apply Korean visa was actually still same but there are few changes, anyway this blogpost is made for Indonesian who wants to apply Korean visa based on my recent experience. On my first trip to Korea, I was staying with my teacher but this time I will stay at hostel/ guesthouse. I applied Korean visa around 1 month before so I prepare the requirements that I saw in their website in a flash because too lazy to take long time. In addition, I want to apply alone without travel agent as usual.

Tasty Korean Restaurant at Cheongdam Garden Senopati

Did I tell you that I love Korean food? Yes..I love it too much especially when I feel like I haven’t ate vegetables in a while so I prefer to eat in Korean restaurant, hmm or I just telling that for excuse to go to Korean restaurant? haha lol but few things that I love eating in Korean Restaurant is they will provide side dishes in advance called Banchan in Korean and it’s for free and also the green tea or ocha are also free flow :)
generous banchan :)
I came to this restaurant, previously named Hanyang Garden and they change their name to Cheongdam Garden. I asked the waiter and she said they just changing the name but overall is same. The first experience with Hanyang Garden is spectacular and pleasant for me so when they changing their name I feel like want to coming back and try it out again. One day at night after office hours I came to this restaurant.

Must Visit Island! Karimun Java (Karimun Jawa)

This place filled my bucket list for some time and I'm happy to be able to put checklist now, how wonderful Indonesia can be!

I put this destination long time ago so I am very happy to visit it finally now. I am planning to visit it but still couldn't find perfect time. Then my friend asking me since they also really wanna go to this island and yeay I said yes last minute.
Java tastes Madives
Leaving Jakarta around 5pm by bus from Terminal Lebak Bulus at South Jakarta, the bus named Muji and you can buy the ticket there, be careful with unofficial officer because they will give you higher price than usual. The ticket price is Rp210k for executive class but since it's not the official ticket it became Rp250k, there were some miscommunication but off we go to Jepara :) The seats were comfortable enough and we did have a good sleep on the bus. Arrived in Jepara around 5 AM and we get off around gas station, thankfully the bus officer woke us up that morning kkkk xDD we slept to tight to realize we arrived already. From gas station we took Becak to Jepara pier Rp20k/becak, met our guide and go to Karimun Jawa by fast boat called Express Bahari at 10 AM for 2 hours. We are so ready for Karimun Java Island!

Anywhere will be fine as long as we could get on trip. Looking out through instagram, facebook, google, whatever and finally we found an open trip to Sangiang Island, 27 - 29 May 2016, located at Banten. Cost to join this open trip is Rp450k/person.

On itinerary mentioned that we will leave at 11 PM from Plaza Semanggi, hmm..this is my first time leaving Semanggi pretty late like that. Arrived there and we still have to waiting others before leaving. We took an ELF to go and we prefer to sleep since its night already, we left around 11.30 PM to Paku Anyer Banten Harbour and arrived around 3 AM so we still have time to sleep again since our boat will leave in the morning around 7 AM. Don't hoping to get a bed for sleeping, we were sleeping on th floor or wherever you want and get a place to sleep :p One thing that surprised me was most ladies in this group are doing their make up before snorkeling and I was like, whuat?! haha since they put it, then I will put it just a little bit then lol xDD

Lovely Stay at Backpackers Hostel K's House Kyoto [REVIEW]

Two countries in a year for my yearly wishlist and glad to made it every year, save money and use it for traveling isn't a crime, it's my primary needs

I think this is the first time I really enjoying my stay at guest house and it really left me good impression and feeling to come back to stay here again if I could have a chance to go back to this city, they really provide everything I need, comfort, clean and great ambiance.

Backpackers Hostel K's House KyotoI stayed for 2 nights, the location also great, 5 - 10 minutes from nearest subway station, Shichijo Station and 10-15 minutes walking to Kyoto Station and you can always walk to Sanjusangendo Temple which not too far maybe about the same distance to Kyoto Station :)
nice and spacious lounge room cr. kshouse website

Japan 10/10 - Itinerary Japan Spring 9D/8N (Tokyo, Kyoto, Osaka, Nara, Kawagoe, Mt. Fuji)

Japan trip will be the one of the best traveling experiences for me :) such an unforgettable trip and amazing journey!
Spring season mission accomplished :)
I found myself little bit confused when I want to make this itinerary haha but finally I made it though :) Based on my experience (look out my itinerary) instead of 2 nights at Kyoto you better stay just 1 night at Kyoto and another 1 night at Osaka so after Nara and little bit explore Kyoto Station, I suggest you to take Shinkansen to Osaka in the afternoon so you can explore nightlife at Osaka like Dotonbori, Glico Man etc. Well, happy reading and save my itinerary Japan, 16 - 24 April 2016 (9D/8N) below if you want, happy traveling! Feel free asking me if you have any questions. To summarize, for this trip to Japan I already went to Tokyo, Kyoto, Osaka, Mt. Fuji and Nara :) Cost for my trip is approximately Rp 11 million (USD 800) all in for 9D/8N, including flight, accommodation, meals, transportation, entrance fees, meals but exclude shopping :) check out below for details. Now, it's your turn to book your flight to Japan soon!

Japan 9/10 - Tokyo and Kawagoe : Candy Alley, Imperial Palace, Tsukiji Fish Market, Ueno Park

Optimizing Tokyo Subway Pass for our last day at Tokyo, it's a must! haha :p

Day 8 - Saturday, 23 April 2016
We are going to Kawagoe which known as Little Edo and we are so excited, haha I guess I tell this many times, because so true that we are very excited in this trip. We were heading to the final station that near the station that we will take to saving cost, this is one of my tips, instead of go to Ikebukuro Station and transfer to Tobu Tojo Line there to Kawagoeshi Station (¥470), it's better to go to Wakoshi Station and took Tobu Tojo Line from that station to Kawagoeshi Station (¥310), so yeah saving cost and optimize Tokyo Subway Pass 3-Day. The journey took around 1,5 hours to Kawagoeshi Station, with google maps that I prepared at subway, I choose to stop at Kawagoeshi Station instead of Kawagoe Station because by looking out the map, Kawagoeshi Station is nearer to the temple, heading to Kita in Temple, walking from the station around 10-15 minutes, it's free and we are happy haha. From there we are going to Tokyo Bell Tower/ Toki no Kane through Kurazukuri Street/ Old Storehouse Zone which was really interesting, The feel is more like Higashiyama area in Kyoto but this one is like more traditional, too bad the Tokyo Bell Tower is on reconstruction but well, the surroundings was amazing so we still have lots to see.

Japan 8/10 - Tokyo : Tokyo Dome, Shimokitazawa and Tokyo DisneySea!

"All our dreams can come true, if we have the courage to pursue them" - Walt Disney
Under the sea :)
Day 7 - Friday, 22 April 2016
Since we didn't get the ticket to Ghibli Museum so we adjusted our itinerary for today, we went to Tokyo Dome in the morning, this is a famous concert venue and it bring memories for me, 2009, little bit sad if I remind it because I miss them sooooo much, the venue was really huge, th capacity for concert is more than 50,000 people, really big. There is also a theme park with roller coaster, woww. We kinda experiencing rush hour in subway, so packed, thankfully it's just one two station to feel that way, pheww. There is Sailormoon Exhibition in Roppongi Halls so we are going there, but too bad the ticket was pretty expensive ¥2,000 so we decided not get in, Roppongi Hills is elite area, like SCBD if in Jakarta.

Japan 7/10 - Tokyo : Asakusa, Tokyo Tower, Shinjuku, Harajuku

"Travel when you are young and able, don't worry about the money, just make it work. Experience is far more valuable than money will ever be" - unknown
wie wunderbar! what a happy face surrounded by flowers

Day 6 - Thursday, 21 April 2016
From Osaka now we are in Tokyo by Willer Express Night Bus, something happened in the bus. Well, we walked too much yesterday and we have to sleep in sitting position so in the morning when I woke up I can't feel my foot and when I check it, my feet was getting bigger or swollen..hahaha...I put some traditional oil in my foot and try to give some massage and I also raise my leg, sorry for the one that sitting next to me >< just hoping the circulation of my blood will work properly, since my foot is can't fit in my shoes yet because of swollen, such an experience xDD our bus stopped in Shinjuku and from there we take subway to Asakusa cause we will stay around that area, our hostel named Khaosan World Asakusa Hostel, booked from Agoda. Reaching Asakusa we walked through Kaminarimon Gate and passing Nakamise Shopping Street and decided to go to our hostel immediately, can't wait to take shower again :)

Japan 6/10 - Osaka : Magical of Harry Potter in Universal Studio Japan

Day 5 - Wednesday , 20 April 2016

We really excited today, will heading to Osaka by Shinkansen, hoho, we took the shortest and affordable way for us to try that super rapid train in Japan. Went to Kyoto Station in the early morning around 6.30 AM, ticket to Osaka cost ¥1,420 and it only took around 10 minutes by Shinkansen from Kyoto to Osaka, amazed with that and it really punctual which I can’t stop adore it. We arrived at Shin Osaka station around 7.10 AM and from there we heading to take subway to Shitennoji Temple, we stopped at Tennoji Station (M23) and walk from station to Shitennoji Temple, it’s kinda far and we are kinda tired and it might because we need to pull our trolley so it takes more effort to walk. One of my friends already put her luggage at coin locker because she didn’t join us to Universal Studio. We asked people where the temple is and apparently there were students from Shitennoji School that heading to school where located next to the temple, most of them were running to the school probably because they are running out of time, haha. Arrived in Shitennoji Temple, not really crowded and actually there were renovation there, we only wander around the temple and decided not to enter, if you want to enter, admission fee is ¥300.

"The only trip you will regret is the one you don't take" - unknown

Fushimi Inari Taisha Shrine, spectacular! :)
Day 4 - Tuesday , 19 April 2016

We decided to go to Fushimi Inari Shrine in the morning around 7.30 AM to avoiding crowded, we went there by bus from Kyoto Station, there's only 2 bus to Fushimi Inari (南5 or 105) and not too frequent so it's kinda took longer than usual, actually it's not that far to go to Fushimi Inari around 15 minutes, from the bus stop we walked about 10 minutes, passing the rail train and finally we arrived in Fushimi Inari, the whole place ambiance is red orange. There were not too many people yet, we arrived around 8.30 AM and strolling around the area, it's FREE by the way.

"Travel makes you realize that no matter how much you know there's always more to learn" - unknown

Spectacular Kinkakuji/ Golden Pavilion, so beautiful :)
Day 3 - Monday , 18 April 2016
We arrived at Kyoto (Gionshijo) as schedule, 06.55, definitely happy to know that we are in Kyoto now! We go to our hostel to take a shower and put our bags. We stayed at Backpackers Hostel K's House, Kyoto, already booked from Booking.com, no need to pay in advance or pay the deposit, just come to the hostel and show your booking confirmation. The Bus stop is nearby Gionshijo St. (subway) so we took subway to Shichijo St. (¥150, 3min) then walking to our hostel, only 5 -10 minutes to the hostel which not really far. The hostel was looking so good from the appearance and when we walked in, it's really nice, the staff are Japanese and really nice too. We asked if we can put our luggage here, take a shower, and they welcome us. Took a shower at that time was soooo refereshing, we went to 2nd floor to the lounge room and the lounge looks spacious, clean and homey.

Then our next stop of course the famous Shibuya Street Crossing which was amazing thing to see and experience ever!! When the lights turn green for crossing, gosh, they cross like  from everywhere..so crazy!!! We also met Hachiko..ohh I mean the Hachiko Statue :), this cute dog and well known for its loyal and the movie was super nice, touched my heart and I cried when watching that movie, the Richard Gere version is the nice one for me :) don't want to become spoiler so you better watch that movie if you haven't yet. Shibuya was really crowded at night..maybe during daylight too.

Japan 2/10 - Kawaguchiko : Mt. Fuji (Lake Kawaguchiko) for Day Trip

Is it possible to go to Mountain Fuji for Day Trip only? Yes ;)

Day 2 - Sunday, 17 April 2016
Woke up around 4 AM and go to the nearest toilet and get ready, if you want to take shower, the airport has shower room and you need to pay around ¥1,000 which is too expensive for me :p Bought our correct Discount Ticket : One-Way Monorail and JR Yamanote Line, ¥500, in the vending machine. The monorail station open at 5 AM and it's so punctual, me love it! when it's open we could feel the breeze already, I just knew it if Spring will be this cold, actually like you are in the room with aircon, since it's 16~17 degree celcius. I thought from the gate to take monorail, you need to climb up or down the stairs which is quite far but it turns out really near haha. Took the monorail from Haneda Airport according the schedule that we saw at Hyperdia which is 5.17 AM and it's really came and left at 5.17 AM, we transferred to JR Yamanote Line at Hamamatsucho.
the right Discount Ticket. ¥500 for that day, 17th of April

How easy to make E-Passport and apply Visa Waiver to Japan

My passport expired still in a long time, can I still change into e-passport?

No worries, that's happened to me too haha and in this post I'm going to tell you about my experience for e-passport etc, things that made Indonesian are easily to go to Japan lately is because free visa for e-passport holder so I decided to change into one in beginning of January 2016 even though my expired date still long time, 2019, haha but I just think to apply to make it more easier to have my visa to be granted. For e-passport holder, you will get permission to go to Japan in 3 years for each visit 15 days. For the requirements as usual I will talk in Bahasa since this is only valid for Indonesian people like me haha :p

left (old passport) - right (e-passport with chip in the bottom)
I went to immigration at Mampang, at South Jakarta, in the morning, around 5.30 AM, if you take Trans Jakarta, just find Imigrasi bus stop for Trans Jakarta, the office open around 7.30 or 8 AM. I write down my name in the blank paper while everyone also write down their name, looks like absence which is actually not valid because you will get the real queuing number in the 2nd floor. And when I went there they just make new system which is you don't have to come early in the morning because they will serve you no matter what on the same day for those that already got queuing number by 10 AM for that day.

Exploring Ubud and Hidden Beach at Bali - Bali 3/5

Day 3 - Saturday, 27 Feb 2016
Yayy..I'm so excited for today because we're going to Ubud, located at North of Bali. We already rent the car for this trip since the weather was not really friendly to go there by motorcycle and neither of us could ride that far though so to avoid the rain we rent a car. I don't know where to go at Ubud so I browsed and let's see what should we visit at Ubud. I come up with some ideas after browsing, since it would be only for Half Day trip to Ubud so I decided to come to some places that becoming Ubud icon, since this is my first time. Why half day? because we are planning to see the hidden beach in the afternoon, so we thought if we rent a car it would be easier to go around.

Our first stop in Ubud is Tegallalang (Rice Terraces), from Jimbaran Uluwatu to Ubud took around one and an half hour, we leave at 8. It was just nice along the way to Ubud, because you can see how different the ambiance and they still keep the traditional cultures, some of ladies wearing their Kebaya (traditional clothes) with the belt. I love it :) Actually the rice terraces area was not too big, once you reach the top, you can just park your car and wandering around, since we living in Indonesia so we already get used to see this kind of view, haha, so we are not that excited to wander around but I love the weather and the green color that always mesmerizing me wherever I go.

Bali, It's Good to See You Again! - Bali 1/5

Had a business trip to Bali from 29 Feb - 4 Mar 2016 but since my annual leaves will expired on 29 Feb I decided to use it and extend to Bali earlier, so I went to Bali from 25 Feb - 4 Mar 2016 (9D/8N), so I stayed in Bali for more than a week :) It's been a long time since my last traveling to Bali at that time I went to Bali only for transit to Lombok and took my flight back to Jakarta, but I enjoyed one day at Bali before heading to airport even I got beautiful sunset too. My trip to Bali this time is not overloaded with itinerary because I don't have one actually haha all I know is I just need time to refreshing and away from the bustling Jakarta.
Stunning Waterblow! :)

My First Greek Food at Gyros Alley

Never tried Greek food since it’s kinda rare to find one before so one day after office hours, me and a friend jump into Greek restaurant, Gyros Alley, she visited this place back then and now returning back again since she loves Greek food. The place located at Panglima Polim area which is good and aligned our way back home. The restaurant seem petite and pretty from the outside with nice blue door, looking stand out and some greenies to complete it.

Hidden Paradise in Japan called Okinawa
