Bangkok 2019 2/4 : Chatucak Market, Factory Coffee, Asiatique & Meeting An Old Friend #gemeztrip

"Have a great laugh and be happy"

Asiatique The Riverfront
Day 2 - Sunday, September 15 2019

There is an exciting market that only open on weekend, Chatucak Market, there are thousand of little stores there and they sell lot of things. Since it's weekend, we went there, we took BTS Sky Train(BTS - THB 44) to go to Chatucak Market. It's quite crowded inside the train. When we arrived there we found this drink stall which interesting, Cha Tra Mue and we tried the drink (THB 40), usually we only bought the powder and might make it by ourselves. So it's just excited to find the stall, I actually tried it before when I went to Penang.

We walked around the market and yes it's a huge market yet exciting to see all those souvenirs, accessories, fashion items, food, home appliance, medicines, scarf, etc. we tried to explore all the alleys but it's just too big that we spent some time at the market. I got myself pretty much some goods.

not forget to eat fruits while at Bangkok

yummy!
I will meet another friend at Bangkok, so we planned to go to Factory Coffee, my friend said that this cafe is well known because they got some prizes at Barista Championship and also Top 13 World Barista. We took BTS Skytrain (THB 36) to this cafe and I met my old friend there. The weather was very hot at Bangkok and no aircon at the market. So, going inside the cafe was felt refreshing while enjoying some nice coffee.

hello again, onni!

We had many stuffs that we thought we need to go back to our hotel and put our stuffs before exploring to another area. We took Grab Car (THB 80) to our hotel, put our stuffs, took shower and get ready to go again. Anyway we moved to Family Suite like finally. The room was nice, pretty spacious and clean. We were starving so the culinary stop was Thara Thong, we took another Grab (THB 170) but apparently the restaurant was still closed so we decided to change into another restaurant, Thipsamai, one of Michelin Street Food at Thailand, again we took another Grab Car (THB 50) and yeay the restaurant was open but the queue was pretty long that we need to join the line.

Finally after a while, it's our turn that we went inside and got seated. It's Thai Restaurant that famous at Thailand. We ordered some Pad Thai since they are famous with their Pad Thai, so we had Basic Padthai (Padthai with dried shrimp and egg), Superb Padthai (Padthai with shrimp oil, fresh deep-sea prawns, and wrapped with egg) and Padthai Song-Krueng (Padthai with shrimp oil, fresh deep-sea prawns, crabmeat, sliced squid, and sliced mango (Sen – Chan or glass noodle) and fresh orange juice. It's quite expensive that we spent THB 1391 (Rp 555k) but it was delicious meals for dinner.

let's eat!

Happy Tummy then we went to Asiatique The Riverfront, since we also want to watch Calypso Cabaret, the famous theatrical show with some transgender artists. Heading there by Grab Car (THB 111) then arrived at Asiatique. Mostly tourist will visit this place, the place well known for the iconic Ferris Wheels, We bought the Calypso Cabaret ticket via online (Rp 200k/person) so we only went to the locket to exchange our ticket and got our numbered seats. We took the 7.30 PM show, so while waiting for the show we wandered around the Asiatique, there are some restaurants, lot of stores so it's really fun to walk around the area. It's time to the show and we entered the place.

The show was fantastic, fun and entertaining. We had a great laugh on that night. It's a show that you must see when you are in Bangkok. It's very well organized, the concepts, the costumes, the dances.. ohhh they are sooo awesome! Most of them dances in their heels, sooo cool! It was memorable experience for me. Usually after the show some performers will go out and you can take a picture with them and you might want to give them some tips.

on the way to Asiatique

We didn't want the night to be over just like that so we took another Grab Car (THB 200) to Ratchada Night Market. It's very big and crowded night market. There are so many night market at Bangkok. We wandered around for quite some time and try some snacks etc. We took MRT (THB 21) to the area that nearby our hotel and then took Taxi (THB 50) to our hotel. It was such a longgg day to shop and walking around, back to our hotel, get some rest before starting our day for tomorrow. Actually it was my friends' last night too at Bangkok, since they only had 3 days while I extended for a day.
