Day 1 - Saturday, September 14 2019

I went to Bangkok with my officemates, the flight is departed at 6.30 AM by Thai Lion Air (THB 5565 ~ around Rp 2.2 million). The journey took about 3 hours and 25 minutes from Soekarno Hatta Airport (CGK) to Don Mueang Airport. We arrived around 10 AM, from there we took Grab Car to our hotel. We already booked our hotel at Folk Poshtel Silom for Family Suite (THB 3,646) but few days before our departure, the hotel emailed me that they offered us to free upgrade our hotel into different location since the room that we booked had some issue with its aircon. So, we finally stayed at different branch, Folk Poshtel Asok.

Arrived at our hotel, Folk Poshtel Asok, the lobby was very nice and clean. We paid for the accommodation at the hotel, and apparently the Family Suite was fully booked for one night so we will separated for a night and will change into Family Suite. Due to unexpected things we got free grab car from Airport to the hotel. The grab car costed THB 500 plus THB 70 for toll gate. So we only need to pay THB 3,076 (around Rp 1.2 million) for our hotel, that's a really good deal. We put our luggage at the hotel and then we went to have lunch.

We took a grab car (THB 157) to Zabbanglove Restaurant. I think we ordered quite a lot since we were so starving. It's a Thai Cuisine Restaurant, the restaurant was not that big but clean. The taste was delicious and we enjoyed it so much. We ordered some dishes included Thai Fried Rice, Tom Yum etc. (THB 941.6 ~ Rp 376k).

We walked to the closer pier to take a boat (THB 20/person) to Wat Arun. It was fun reminiscing for me to take a boat at Bangkok, Chao Phraya River. We could see Wat Arun from far away since the temple was white color, it really stands out even from such a distance, a Buddhist temple and popular for tourist to come. Entrance Fee was THB 50/person. Outside the temple, you can also rent Traditional Clothes and take some picture with it in front of the temple.

We went to Pratunam area (Grab Car THB 176) and wandered around. We also went to Platinum Fashion Mall. It's a perfect place to shop since it's really big, full with nice yet pretty clothes, accessories etc. I met another ex office mate who currently stayed at Bangkok. Not far from there, we also walked to Big C Supermarket, it's a big supermarket and a good place if you want to buy some snacks, thai tea etc from Thailand. Back to the our hotel then we went to have dinner at Nagiya, nearby our hotel.

At night we went to Khaosan Road, one of the famous area full with tourist. It was so crowded at night. If you curious with the night life at Bangkok then you can visit this area. We walked around and hangout at a restaurant before going back to the hotel.
