Day 6 - Wednesday, 13 March 2019

We checked out in early morning from Moca Guest House at Hogdae and heading to Express Bus Terminal/Central City, we took subway to Express Bus Terminal Station. We planned to go to Nonsan Sunshine Land. From Nonsan, we will go to Jeonju so we thought we will heading to Nonsan before going to Jeonju.

NONSAN SUNSHINE LAND

Once we arrived at Bus Terminal we bought our bus ticket to Yeonmudae (11,300 won), Bus will depart at 08.10. The journey will take around 2.5 hours. This place was famous because of Korean drama, Mr. Sunshine. Neither of us have watched that Korean drama at that time but we were just curious with the location since they built streets and buildings during the late Joseon period in 1900s. So you can feel like you are going to travel back to the old time. Anyway I watched the drama later on and the drama was really good, recommended!

LOVEEE!
Arrived at Yeonmudae and from there, we took the bus based on google/ naver maps to Sunshine Land. We used the T-money to pay the bus fare and since most of them speaking Korean and it was a little hard to communicate using English so we just keep look at our GPS and hit the Bus stop button where we saw the blue dot almost arrived at our destination, the bus stop announcement only in Korean. We got off from the bus and we felt assure when we saw the signage of Sunshine Land so we thought okay, we get off on the right direction. Crossing the bridge then we walked to the place, it was quite empty at that time, we walked about 10-15 minutes, the weather was pretty cold.

Finally we arrived at Sunshine Land and guess what? it's closed for that day! :( shocked! We didn't double check for this location, apparently they were closed on Wednesday. We also saw few locals were so doomed like us. So, we just can see a little bit from outside, anyway the location really looks like in the drama and it feels nice if we can get inside but yeah we can't get in. Anyway if I got a chance again maybe I will go back there and make sure it's open.

NEXT, OFF TO JEONJU!

We took the bus and heading to Nonsan Station, we will take the train to Jeonju, it was so cold and windy, so glad the bus stop was covered and so we can get inside avoiding the wind. It took a while until the bus coming since we just can wait because no exact schedule for the local bus. Going to Nonsan Station then we bought the ticket to Jeonju (4,100 won), bus will depart at 13.48. We still have some time and were starving so we looked for some restaurant to eat. Heading to nearby restaurant, we had Ramyun and Kimbap, it's sooo delicious, ramyun to make ourselves feel warm. Train to Jeonju will take less than an hour. From Jeonju Station we took the bus from across the station to centre.

WHAT TO DO AT JEONJU?

We already felt the different ambience from Seoul, in here more traditional feeling and it's very nice. Strolling around and around, you can see most people wearing Hanbok, a Korean traditional clothes, you can rent and stroll around.

Welcome to Jeonju!

풍년제과 우리밀빵 (Pungnyeon Jekwa)

I tried the Choco Pie in here (2,300 won), just trying some snacks in Jeonju (1,900 - 2,500 won per pcs).

PNB 풍년제과 since 1951

Not far from the previous store, there is also this store and more crowded, I guess this store also had some reviews at some Korean news. So, I also tried the Choco Pies in here, the price was similar around 1,500 - 2,500 won. I bought 2 flavours (3,800 won).

JEONJU HANOK VILLAGE

We just strolled around the village, it's not very big. We thought to rent Hanbok too for ourselves since we already in Jeonju so why don't we tried the traditional clothes in here. So we looked for the Rent Shop, the prices were vary and most of them offer to 1 - 3 hours, from 15,000 won. Finally we went to this store because we thought the place was nice, they also have some background to take some pictures and they have pretty Hanbok collections. We rented the Hanbok, 20,000 won for 3 hours and we also got a hair-do.
Spring!

PHOTO SESSION at JEONJU HANOK VILLAGE

Wandered around with Hanbok and we took a lot of pictures at Jeonju, it was a nice experience to try at Jeonju. We really used our time in 3 hours with Hanbok haha. We also encountered a Korean photographer and later on he helped us to take our pictures using our phone, he was so kind. We also found out he also taking another group and have photo session with them, anyway thank you Ahjussi :)

Another snack that I tried in Jeonju, Croquettes, it's very delicious aand they have some different flavours such as Cream Cheese, Jeonju Bibimbap etc. I tried the Jeonju Bibimbap (3,000 won).

JEONJU BIBIMBAP

The last thing that we tried but also the traditional food icon from Jeonju is Bibimbap! actually the things that I want to do in Jeonju is trying their Bibimbap, a Korean mixed rice with some vegetables or meat. We had it for our dinner, we stayed at Wan San Gol Guest House, and they had restaurant. The Bibimbap is very delicious with some side dishes (banchan) !! I really had a good dinner, it costs 5,000 won.
Bibimbap!
After I mixed it! taste sooo goood
We were so tired and and had a good sleep at that night, here is our room at Jeonju. So traditional but the guest house was so clean and they have mostly things that we need, the price also not too expensive (Rp 110k/night/person) and not really far to Jeonju Hanok Village, we actually just walked to our guest house. I won't forget that delicious Bibimbap that I had for that night, we stayed only for one night.
