Sukabumi 2022 : Day Trip to Geopark Ciletuh, The Waterfall is Stunning!

It's another day trip to Geopark Ciletuh, located at Sukabumi, West Java, is a national geopark and it was recognized by UNESCO in 2015. We woke up so early around 3 AM, the meeting point was at Plaza Semanggi, next to Arya Duta. There were several meeting points for this trip so it's so convenient for participants to choose which meeting point that close to their home. Meeting point at Plaza Semanggi was at 4.20 AM and we left to another meeting point around 4.30 AM. There were 13 persons on this trip, we took long elf to go there. We paid for this trip for Rp 230k/person and I went with my sister.

Apparently the journey to Geopark Ciletuh will take around 6 - 7 hours. We saw some people wore jacket and also brought travel neck pillow. We weren't aware that we might need to bring that since it helps. Somehow it's just too cold in the car along the journey and most of the time we just sleeping. Sometimes we took a break at rest area for toilet break.

Puncak Darma

The route to reach this place was amazed us, up and down, too many U-turn with steep road. It's not recommended if you're not an expert in driving. Apparently I heard so many cars even couldn't go up so the passengers need to get out from the car. But luckily our driver was such an expert already, even though at some part we need to turn off the Aircon. Finally, arrived on our destination, Puncak Darma, highest point of this Geopark Ciletuh. From up here we could see the nice view from above, we could also see Ciletuh Bay from the top. There are some photo spot in this area, it's not that big and by the time we went there, there was only our group.

Curug Cimarinjung

It's our first waterfall at Geopark Ciletuh, the good thing was to find this waterfall, we don't need to walk that long since it's not that far from the parking area. But since it was downpour last night, so the water was brown and the water debit was too much that we wouldn't dare to go inside the water. The waterfall height is around 50 - 60 meters. The things that made interesting was the cliff colors around it, red-ish, green-ish etc. Too bad we couldn't see the waterfall with the clear water but thinking about the journey to reach this place without rain was made us grateful too. Ohh we also had the cheapest coconut ice like Rp 8k for one coconut, nice.

Curug Sodong - Curug Cikanteh

Next waterfall was Curug Sodong, located not too far from Curug Cimarinjung, around 30 minutes. We will also have lunch there too before exploring Curug. Arrived at Curug Sodong, the parking lot was very big comparing with Curug Cimarinjung. We had lunch there, soup, tempe, chicken and rice. I like the soup, it reminds me with the one that I had when I was a kid (Rp 70k), the food was Rp 25k/person and we bought some drinks. I also bought some mangoes to bring it home, it's so cheap like Rp 10k/kg, the mango called Indramayu. We had a nice lunch and ready to explore Curug Sodong.

Finished our lunch then we were ready to go to Curug Cikanteh, to get there we need to do little hiking around 15 minutes, we spotted Curug Sodong easily from the front gate, but we will get back here again after Curug Cikanteh. We did some hike and that Curug Cikanteh was soo beautiful, finally clear waterfall. Just sit there and watching the waterfall made me happy. Hearing those water sounds, birds or laughs, with such a clean air, it's just so nice. From there we went back to Curug Sodong, just take some rest there and change our clothes.

Pantai Palampang

It's our final destination for this day trip, Palampang Beach, we spent not too long in this beach, to be honest, for me it's not a nice beach so we just went there, take a look for a while and the just get back and waiting the others to get in the car. We leave around 5 PM back to Jakarta, and the traffic was sooo crazy. We also stopped for a while to have quick dinner, we had cup noodle and cilok, hehe. We also bought some snacks from a store along our way.

The journey back to Jakarta was so exhausting, we arrived around 11 PM. It's exhausting but it's really fun, anyway we used IG @travelbuddies_id for this open trip, thank you!
