Sukabumi 2022 : A Rainy Day at Ujung Genteng

We gathered at Plaza Semanggi, depend on the meeting point that you choose, I went to Ujung Genteng (October 15 - 16, 2022) with my sister and we joined open trip. We departed around 9 pm from Plaza Semanggi, the journey to Sukabumi took around 6 - 7 hours. Ujung Genteng is one of popular destinations at Sukabumi. I was just curious since I never been visited this place.

Curug Cikaso

It was downpour when we arrived at our first destination, we arrived around 6 - 6.30 am. We waited for a while until the rain was stopped. To get to the waterfall or Curug Cikaso, we need to take a boat and ride for 10 - 15 minutes. So we just waited there, had a hot tea to warm ourselves before heading to Curug Cikaso. Finally the rain was stopped so we get on the boat and heading to Curug Cikaso, arrived at Curug Cikaso then we need to walk just a little bit then you will hear the sound of waterfall immediately, it's not that far from the pier or the boat stop, the boat will wait for us there. We spend some time at the waterfall, anyway it's raining again but yet we found a beautiful rainbow just below the waterfall, so after some time enjoying our time at waterfall we were heading back by boat and continue to the next destination.

Another boat riding to reach this place, but this time the boat was too small, hmm it's kind of a bit challenging and from we get off from the boat we need to trekking to reach the beach. The path was too slippery since it's raining season. From uphill if you want to reach the beach you need to go downstairs, I didn't get down there because it's not that interesting to be honest so I felt it's just enough to see from the top. We had cup noodle and bought some snacks there. Back to the boat and heading to our last destination. When we took the boat and heading back, it was downpour again. Apparently my jacket was not waterproof so it's kind of a bit annoying.

Penangkaran Penyu (Turtle Conservation)

So yeah look around this turtle conservation where most of this place was in renovation, so nothing much to see, but behind this turtle conservation there is a nice beach. It was so hot, the beach was quite nice, we spend some time before heading back to Jakarta. We didn't go to Ujung Genteng beach, not sure why the tour leader didn't follow the itinerary, they said that beach is not that nice and choose to stay longer in this beach instead. Even I guess there is still enough time to visit there even just for a while but yeah. If I am not mistaken we were back to Jakarta around 4.30 pm, we stopped around Sukabumi area to have dinner before heading back to Jakarta.

I think it's my third time joined open trip from Travelbuddies for Rp 300K/person, but I was a bit disappointed during this trip. But so glad it's not my first time because we had nice experiences during previous open trip with this travel agent. Anyway finally I am not curious anymore with this beach.
