Lupis Mbah Satinem

After Netflix, soon this Lupis Mbah Satinem becomes so famous that I also want to try, since we stayed at Kotta Go and apparently it's very close with this Lupis, so we went there in the morning, it;s only 2 minutes away by walking. We went around 6 AM and it's crowded already, we took our queue number, #18 we got. And it's became more crowded lately. It took me around almost 2 hours until my number got called.

Lupis is Indonesian traditional snack made from sticky rice, wrapped in banana leaf and steamed, topped with shredded coconut and liquid palm sugar. There's something unique with Lupis Satinem, she cut the Lupis by using a string and she is the one that cut all of those Lupis. I think that's why it will take some time to finally get ours, I ordered Lupis and another mixed glutinous rice. While waiting for our lupis, we tried several snacks there, total Rp 48k including Lupis. We went back to our hotel to have breakfast and eat the Lupis, it's delicious and I like it.

Gudeg Mbok Lindu

Another things that we bought because of the Netflix series was Gudeg, it's local traditional food from Yogyakarta, Gudeg is made from young unripe jackfruit. I heard this place ran by an old lady that probably more than 100 years old but unfortunately she passed away already so she had passed this stall to her daughter. I want to try this Gudeg (Rp 20k). They only open until 11 AM so from Lupis, we went to this place by walking. We decided to walk since we just had our breakfast and lupis mbah Satinem, so we were still full but there are so many things that I want to try.

We will move to different hotel today so we packed our things, checked out and asked the hotel to keep our luggage for us. From there we went to Sinten Studio by Gocar (Rp 22k) to do photoshoot but apparently the slot were full, they only have available slot in 3.30 PM so we might go back later.

Tugu Lor Cafe

While waiting for Sinten, we went to this cafe by Gocar (Rp 18k) that recommended by a friend, the cafe is really nice, so many greenies. The coffee was good, we just sitting there, the place is also quite spacious and we took some photos there since the place is just too instagrammable to take some photos and cozy ambience. Anyway this cafe is recommended. I ordered Ice Java Blues, banana fried and lychee ice tea (Rp 77k for 2 persons).

Soto Kadipiro

Let's have lunch, we took Grabcar (Rp 30k) to this Soto Kadipiro, we asked the favorite menu, Soto Ayam, the portion is not that really big but enough to fill our stomach. They serve so fast and the soto is also tasty. Soto Ayam is another traditional dishes, it's like chicken soup dish, they have clear broth. It's also recommended Soto to try in Yogyakarta (Rp 53,5k for 2 persons).

Es Coklat Impian

It's so hot in Yogyakarta so let's drink some ice, basically this place sell Ice Chocolate but the unique things are they sell ice chocolate and bread, and the way you eat the bread is by dipping into the ice chocolate. So you came there, ordered and they will give you a glass so you can just fill the glass by yourself, you can only fill your glass once though. But unfortunately when we came there, the bread was sold out so we couldn't try to drink ice chocolate pairing with the bread, so we only tried the drink (Rp 22k for 2 persons). This place is so crowded with people.

From there we took our luggage and check in to another hotel, this time we stayed at Artotel. And then we went back to Sinten Studio since we already booked the slot.

Sinten Studio

Initially we want to go to Sinten near Tugu Monument but apparently they closed already and move to another place. We went to this branch instead, for the photoshoot it cost Rp 500k for 2 person and we can get 3 pictures, add Rp 50k/picture and we decided to take 3 more pictures, so total cost Rp 650k. So as the appointment at 3.30 PM, we went back here like 10 minutes before the time. It's an interesting experience to try, they provide a lot of outift and they have our size haha, we can choose the outfit and they will do our hair. They also recommend us to not put so much make up so the result would be natural.

The studio is well set up, with different kind of props and backdrop. I think it's my first time doing photoshoot like that, they also have the stylist so she will ready to fix my outfit so we can get the decent pictures. I think it last less than an hour, the staff also help us taking our pictures from my phone, we can also take some pictures at different spot there and the staff is very kind to help us taking our pictures, a nice set and what an unforgettable experience to try. Once we finished, we choose the pictures then they will send the pictures that already edited with high quality resolution via email in less than a week if I'm not mistaken.

We went back to hotel to get some rest and yayy, swimming time. There was no one in the pool so we enjoyed the swimming pool for ourselves.

Nasi Goreng Sapi Kantor Notaris

Time for dinner, went there by Gocar (Rp 30,5k). This place open from 6 PM - 9 PM. By the time we went there, it's getting crowded. We ordered 2 portion with an omelette (Rp 36k). It's good, the portion is enough to make our stomach full. Finished with dinner and we went to Malioboro area, went to Beringhardjo Market, Hamzah Batik and explore surrounding. Malioboro is always nice to visit every time you go to Jogja especially at night. We decided to take becak (Rp 20k) to explore Malioboro, what a fun night.
